How to Become a Travel Curator

Travel Curator

If you love to travel and want to share your passion with others, becoming a travel curator may be the perfect career for you. Travel curators are responsible for creating and curating travel experiences for their clients, whether it’s planning an itinerary, booking flights and accommodation, or providing on-the-ground support during their trip. If you’re thinking of becoming a travel curator, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Know your stuff

To be a successful travel curator, you need to have first-hand knowledge of the destinations you’re recommending. That means being able to speak authoritatively about places, attractions, activities, accommodation options, and more. Do your research and familiarise yourself with as many travel destinations as possible.

  1. Be organized

Creating customized travel itineraries takes organization and attention to detail. You’ll need to be able to juggle multiple bookings and deadlines, so it’s important to have strong time management skills.

  1. Be a people person

As a travel curator, you’ll be working closely with clients to understand their travel needs and preferences. It’s important to be a good listener and communicator, so you can deliver the perfect travel experience for them.

  1. be creative

When it comes to curating travel experiences, familiarize yourself with as many travel destinations as possible. Think outside the box and be creative in your approach to travel planning.

  1. be flexible

Things change, and as a travel curator, you need to be able to roll with the punches. Whether it’s last-minute changes to an itinerary or dealing with travel disruptions, being flexible is key to being successful in this role.
